Migrate Legacy Resolvers

Goal

Replace the deprecated ocm.config.ocm.software fallback resolver configuration with the new resolvers.config.ocm.software/v1alpha1 glob-based resolvers.

The fallback resolver (ocm.config.ocm.software) is deprecated. It uses priority-based ordering with prefix matching and probes multiple repositories until one succeeds. The glob-based resolver (resolvers.config.ocm.software/v1alpha1) replaces it with first-match glob-based matching against component names and optional semver version constraints, which is simpler and more efficient.

Migrate Legacy Credentials

Goal

Update a legacy OCM .ocmconfig file to use modern field names and optional typed credentials. Most fields work unchanged in the new OCM; this guide covers the renamed field (pathprefix → path) and the optional migration to typed credentials.

Migrate --upload-as Flags

Goal

Replace --upload-as (CLI) and uploadType (transfer.config.ocm.software/v1alpha1, CLI config and controller Replication configs) with the oci.uploader.transfer.config.ocm.software/v1alpha1 uploader configuration.

The --upload-as and --copy-resources flags are deprecated. They still work: the CLI translates them into uploader configuration entries appended after all configured entries (see Deprecated flags). A leftover uploadType field in a transfer config fails config loading with unknown field "uploadType" and must be migrated before upgrading.

Migrate a Deployer to a NamespacedDeployer

Goal

Replace a cluster-scoped Deployer with a NamespacedDeployer while the deployed objects keep running.

You’ll end up with

A NamespacedDeployer that owns and reconciles the objects the Deployer deployed
The same objects, with unchanged UIDs, no longer owned by the old Deployer
